The last US military plane left Kabul airport at midnight on the 8th of Sanblah (30 August 2021). In this way, the 20-year war of America in Afghanistan ended. The Taliban welcomed the departure of the last American forces from Afghanistan with a joyful gunshot and called this moment historic.

At the same time, the US Ministry of Defense has announced that the evacuation operation has also ended. According to what has been announced, in this process, 123,000 civilians, including foreign citizens, Afghans who have worked with American forces, and vulnerable people, have been evacuated. Previously, US President Joe Biden had announced the end of the country's war in Afghanistan on August 31, but American forces left Kabul a day ago.

The last US C-17 military aircraft was carrying Ross Wilson, head of the US embassy in Kabul and a military commander of this country. The US-backed government headed by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani fell on the 24th of Assad. After the fall of this government, the American forces and its allies took control of the airport and began the evacuation operation.

 Thousands of people rushed to the airport to leave the country. On the fourth of the spike, a deadly explosion occurred at the entrance of the airport in the midst of the crowd, in which 170 people, including 13 American soldiers, were killed. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, also published a statement on this matter and said that in the past 17 days, the American forces carried out the largest airlift. However, Biden said that the 20-year US military presence in Afghanistan is over. 

Kenneth McKenzie, the head of the US Central Command, who was also responsible for US forces in Afghanistan, said that with the end of the evacuation process, the 20-year US mission in Afghanistan, which began shortly after September 11, has also ended. According to McKenzie, more than 800,000 American soldiers and 25,000 civilians have served in Afghanistan. He announced the death toll of American citizens in Afghanistan over the past 20 years as 4,612, including soldiers and civilians.

McKenzie also said that another 20,000 people were injured in this mission. The President of the United States, Joe Biden, also published a statement on this matter and said that in the past 17 days, the American forces carried out the largest airlift. However, Biden said that the 20-year US military presence in Afghanistan is over.
